Steve Chan.
Still figuring it out.
Always building.

Right now that’s Forgeai, an AI adoption service for UAE businesses, and Earworm, an iPhone and Apple Watch app, with Channel Chan, my podcast, on the way. I’m an entrepreneur based in Dubai.

My advisory brings together technical judgement, founder experience and an understanding of large organisations. I help B2B and AI founders make product decisions and prepare their technology for enterprise customers.

Small Heath to Dubai: my story

There was no playbook.I’m writing mine.

The companies, the podcast, the Playbook and the advice: it’s the help I wish I’d had growing up.

Small Heath to Dubai: my story

Some were born here. Most arrived. All of them are building.

The Playbook

All ten rules →
  1. 01

Nobody taught me. I learned anyway.

How I taught myself business when no one around me had ever run one.

  2. 02

    Make your own luck.

The habits that put you in the way of chances other people call luck.

  3. 03

    Take the long way round.

Your plan may fail or take years longer than you thought. The detours are the route.

  4. 04

    Embrace the absurd. Crazy sells.

Why the odd idea, the strange name and the unlikely product get remembered and bought.

The short book behind the rules is £10, and it’s on the way.

Start with a Working Session

One technology decision you want to get right: preparation, 90 minutes together in Dubai or on video, and a one-page written plan within 48 hours. Credited against an ongoing engagement if you join within 14 days.

  1. 01

    Before you build

Choose the right technology and what to build first.

  2. 02

    As you launch

Make clearer decisions about systems, suppliers and AI.

  3. 03

    As you grow

Prepare your technology for enterprise customers.

My own record: I co-founded Stealth Labs, a UK AI studio (Companies House 15428613) on the UK government’s G-Cloud framework. Its published case studies report 85% less time finding documents for pilot customers, and equipment failures predicted 72 hours ahead with 94% accuracy. The case studies →

It’s extremely rare to find a friend, mentor and advisor all in one.

Like most startups, we were up and down, with no clear roadmap to becoming more consistent and successful. We met Steve and explained our situation. He understood where we were and advised us, with useful feedback on our strategy and possible solutions.

Let’s talk.

A technology decision, a story worth sharing, or a tech venture taking shape? Let’s meet over a free coffee in Dubai, or on video. A chance to get to know each other, with no obligation. Confidential by default.

Still inside a big company and thinking of building a tech company? Building an app on the side, with no budget yet? The coffee’s for you too.
